We believe that this Proposal can serve as a good example for other countries in order to seek political support for the recognition and promotion of rights of Roma citizens.

We are attaching the full text of the Proposal (in Spanish).

Following, we are presenting you with the essence of this proposal:

"RESOLUTION PROPOSAL:

1. The Congress of Deputies manifests its commitment to the protection of the rights of the Roma, rejects personal or institutional acts of romophobia (anti-gypsism), and condemns the deportation European Roma citizens by the Member states of the European Union.

It also urges the Spanish government to:

2. Undertake all appropriate initiatives to ensure that the European Commission develops, on an urgent and priority basis, a comprehensive European Strategy for the Inclusion of Roma Population, which will become the instrument for combating exclusion and discrimination of Roma people in Europe.
3. Claim, in all appropriate European authorities, the adoption of effective measures against those Member States that violated the rights of the Roma citizens."

We would like to inform you that we will keep on working with different parliamentary parties and groups in Catalonia and Spain, in order to enhance the presence of Romani voice in the political and decision-making processes.
